UI Work

I Am Fish, are you Fish too?

During my time at Bossa Studios, I worked on the original prototype for I Am Fish as part of the Bossa Presents platform. While my contributions were limited in scope, they had a major impact on the direction of the game.

I designed the original fish character and model and came up with the unique control scheme — flapping the left stick to move the fins and using the right stick to control the head and direction. This core physics-based movement was the foundation of the game. Initially, the idea was for the fish to flop on the ground, forcing players to struggle forward. But after a colleague shared a video of a fish controlling a robotic tank in an aquarium, I had the idea to put the fish in a bowl — at that moment, the game concept clicked into place.

Later, another colleague took over and expanded on the bowl physics, while I contributed additional features like the checkpoint system and UI. I also created the trailer for the prototype, recording and editing all the footage. That trailer played a key role in the game going viral.

Although I wasn’t involved in the final commercial release, I’m proud to have helped lay the groundwork for I Am Fish and to have contributed to its early development. Check out the reveal Trailer here:
